The tragic death of a former matador in Spain has once again ignited fierce debates around the controversial sport of bullfighting. Victor Barrio, a 29-year-old bullfighter, was fatally gored by a bull just moments before an annual bullfight was set to take place in the town of Teruel.
According to eyewitnesses, Barrio was performing a routine pass with his cape when the 1,160-pound bull suddenly turned and impaled him in the chest with its sharp horn. Paramedics rushed to the scene but were unable to save the young matador, who died from his injuries.
