AOC and Boebert Unite for Congressional Accountability

Unlikely allies AOC and Boebert call for reforms to address sexual misconduct in Congress after high-profile resignations.
In a rare show of bipartisanship, progressive Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and conservative Representative Lauren Boebert (R-CO) have joined forces to demand greater accountability for sexual misconduct in Congress. The two lawmakers, who typically occupy the leftward and rightward flanks of their respective parties, are calling for concrete policy changes to address the issue following the recent resignations of several Congress members accused of improper behavior.
The push for reform comes on the heels of high-profile departures, including that of Representative John Conyers (D-MI), who stepped down in 2017 amid allegations of sexual harassment, and more recently, Representative Katie Hill (D-CA), who resigned in 2019 over a relationship with a campaign staffer.
