Tiny Titan: Slate's Compact Truck Defies Expectations
Is the Slate Truck too minimalist for its own good? We take a close look at this surprisingly spacious, yet compact electric pickup truck.
The first thing that catches your eye about the Slate Truck is its size. Bucking the trend of ever-growing pickup trucks, this electric vehicle sports a refreshingly compact frame, measuring just 174.6 inches long, 70.6 inches wide, and 69.3 inches tall, with a curb weight of approximately 3,602 pounds (1,634kg). In a country where trucks often come with their own zip code, this diminutive pickup is a welcome sight.
However, don't let its small stature fool you, as the interior space inside the Slate Truck is anything but cramped. Even as a relatively tall individual over 6 feet, I found myself with ample amounts of head- and legroom, a surprising feat given the truck's compact dimensions.
