In a shocking turn of events, Christopher Joell-Deshields, the former Chief Executive of Pride in London, one of the world's largest LGBTQ+ events, has been sacked from his position following an investigation into allegations of misconduct. The investigation found that Joell-Deshields had been using company vouchers, intended for volunteer food and drink, to purchase luxury goods for personal use.
Joell-Deshields, who had been leading Pride in London since 2021, was first suspended in September of last year, after the claims of misconduct came to light. The subsequent investigation revealed that a total of £7,125 had been inappropriately spent on these luxury items, prompting the decision to terminate Joell-Deshields' employment.
