Urgent: Australia Demands Lebanon Inclusion in Mideast Ceasefire

Australia leads global call for humanitarian aid, protection of aid workers as Lebanon crisis escalates amid Israel's largest attack since 2006.
Australia is leading a group of countries in a joint statement expressing deep concern over the worsening humanitarian crisis and displacement in Lebanon. The statement, also signed by Brazil, Colombia, Indonesia, Jordan, Sierra Leone, and the UK, calls for the inclusion of Lebanon in the ongoing Middle East ceasefire negotiations.
The call for action comes after Israel carried out its largest attack on Lebanon since the 2006 war with Hezbollah, killing at least 254 people and wounding 837. This assault has prompted Iranian officials to warn that Tehran could withdraw from the ceasefire agreed with the US earlier this week.
