As tensions between the United States and Iran continue to simmer, oil prices have spiked to their highest levels in seven months, with traders seemingly hedging against the prospect of a conflict between the two nations. According to analysts, the market is reacting to the heightened geopolitical risks ahead of this week's scheduled nuclear talks between the US and Iran.
US crude futures rose to $67.28 per barrel on Monday, while Brent crude, the global benchmark, reached $72.50 per barrel, its highest level since July 31st. Although prices retreated later in the session, they were once again approaching Monday's peaks on Tuesday morning.
