Abuse Survivor Grace Tame's Foundation Shutters Amid Funding Woes

Grace Tame's advocacy foundation, founded in 2021 during her tenure as Australian of the Year, is closing due to long-term funding challenges, raising concerns for abuse survivor support.
Grace Tame, the former Australian of the Year and renowned advocate for survivors of child sexual abuse, has announced the closure of her eponymous foundation due to difficulties securing long-term funding. The announcement comes just weeks after Tame revealed she had lost speaking engagements due to a 'smear campaign' against her.
Tame, who was named Australian of the Year in 2021 for her advocacy work and efforts to reform laws around sexual assault, established the Grace Tame Foundation in the same year with the aim of supporting abuse survivors and driving legislative change. However, the organization has now revealed it will be shutting down, citing the challenges of securing sustainable funding.
