Accused Trio Busted in Massive Nvidia Chip Smuggling Plot to China

Three individuals have been charged with an alleged scheme to illegally export billions in Nvidia semiconductors from the US to China using fake documents and dummy equipment.
Federal prosecutors have charged three individuals with an elaborate plot to illegally export billions of dollars' worth of Nvidia semiconductor chips from the United States to China. The trio allegedly used fake documentation and dummy equipment to conceal the true nature of their illicit operation.
According to the indictment, the defendants - Nima Golkar, Kian Khalaji, and Mehrdad Foomanie - were part of a sophisticated smuggling ring that sought to circumvent U.S. export controls on sensitive technology and ship vast quantities of Nvidia GPUs to China. The chips, which have both commercial and military applications, are subject to strict export regulations due to national security concerns.
