Alarming Cybersecurity Alert: Iranian Hackers Targeting U.S. Critical Infrastructure

U.S. federal agencies have issued a joint advisory warning about Iranian hackers intensifying their attacks on American critical infrastructure, including energy, transportation, and other key sectors. The advisory, released by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the National Security Agency (NSA), and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), states that Iranian threat actors have 'escalated' their tactics in response to the ongoing tensions between the United States, Israel, and Iran.

According to the report, the Iranian hackers have been targeting a wide range of American organizations, from small businesses to large enterprises, with the goal of disrupting critical services and potentially causing physical damage. The advisory highlights several new and evolving techniques used by the Iranian actors, including exploiting known vulnerabilities, deploying ransomware, and engaging in data-wiping attacks.
