The Australian government seeks to shore up the country's supply of critical goods like diesel and fertilizer amid global shortages. PM Albanese and FM Wong travel to Brunei and Malaysia to discuss energy, food security and trade.
The Australian government is taking action to secure the country's supply of essential resources like diesel and fertilizer, which have been impacted by global shortages due to the ongoing conflict between the US and Iran. To address this issue, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Foreign Minister Penny Wong will travel to Brunei and Malaysia this week for high-level discussions.
Albanese will first visit Bandar Seri Begawan, the capital of Brunei, on Tuesday to meet with Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah. The talks will focus on energy, food security, and the flow of critical goods between the two countries. This visit is a crucial step in the government's effort to shore up Australia's supply of key resources in the wake of recent shortages.
