Berlin Conference Seeks to Raise $1B+ for Urgent Sudan Projects

As the devastating war in Sudan enters its fourth year, the Berlin conference aims to refocus global attention and secure over $1 billion in funding for critical humanitarian aid and reconstruction efforts.
Berlin, Germany - In the midst of international crises demanding global attention, the war in Sudan has largely fallen off the radar. However, the ongoing conflict, which has raged for nearly four years, remains a pressing humanitarian disaster requiring urgent action and substantial funding. To that end, a high-level conference in Berlin is aiming to raise over $1 billion to support crucial projects and aid initiatives in the troubled East African nation.
The two-day conference, co-hosted by the German government and the United Nations, is bringing together representatives from dozens of countries, as well as international organizations and NGOs, to rally support and commitments for Sudan's recovery. German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock emphasized the importance of the international community re-engaging with the crisis, stating, "The world cannot turn a blind eye to the suffering in Sudan."
