Bitter Rivalry: Halide Co-Founder Sues Former Partner Over Apple Defection

The co-founder of popular iPhone camera app Halide is suing his former business partner, alleging he improperly took source code to Apple after being fired.
Halide, one of the most popular and acclaimed camera apps for the iPhone, has become the center of a bitter legal dispute between its co-founders. Sebastiaan de With, who co-created the app with Ben Sandofsky, recently made headlines when he joined Apple's design team in a high-profile move. However, Sandofsky has now filed a lawsuit alleging that de With was fired for financial misconduct and improperly took Halide's source code to his new employer.
The lawsuit, filed in the California Superior Court of Santa Cruz, paints a complex picture of the breakdown in the relationship between the two co-founders. According to the lawsuit, de With was terminated from Lux Optics, the company behind Halide, due to alleged financial irregularities in his management of the business. Sandofsky claims that before his departure, de With copied Halide's source code and other intellectual property, which he then brought with him to Apple.
