Brace for Blizzards and Gales: Storm Dave Hits the UK

Heavy snow and powerful winds from Storm Dave are set to disrupt Easter travel across northern UK. But warmer weather could return next week.
The UK is bracing for a powerful winter storm as Storm Dave barrels in, bringing heavy snow and gale-force winds that are expected to cause widespread travel disruption over the Easter weekend.
The Met Office has issued a yellow severe weather warning for Scotland, forecasting heavy snow and blizzards that could dump up to 30 centimetres of the white stuff and lead to power outages and treacherous road conditions. An amber warning for wind has also been issued for parts of northern England, Scotland, and Wales on Saturday evening.

Despite the wintry blast, there is a glimmer of hope on the horizon. Forecasters say that the cold spell could be followed by a return to warmer weather as early as next week, with temperatures potentially reaching the mid-20s Celsius.
