Caffè Nero Expands, But Warns of Rising Coffee Prices

Caffè Nero, the family-owned coffee chain, is continuing its growth with new UK and international locations, but warns that coffee prices are likely to increase due to global factors.
Caffè Nero, the family-owned coffee shop chain, is eyeing steady growth with plans to open up to 30 new UK stores and between 50 to 70 additional international locations this year. However, the company's founder has warned that coffee prices are likely to rise due to the ongoing war in Ukraine and higher staffing costs.
The expansion comes on the heels of Caffè Nero's recent acquisition of 15 Compass Coffee stores in Washington DC, which the company plans to convert to its main brand. This strategic move allows Caffè Nero to establish a stronger foothold in the US market.
Despite the growth plans, the company says it will pause any further acquisitions for the time being. Gerry Ford, the founder of Caffè Nero, emphasized that the company's focus will remain on organic expansion, both in the UK and its international markets, which span 10 countries.
