Can Trump Secure a Better Iran Deal Than Obama's?

Trump faces major hurdles in negotiating a new Iran deal that must be better than the 2015 agreement and the recent Geneva proposal to justify the costs of war.
Trump will need to show that any new Iran deal he secures is better than the one signed by Barack Obama in 2015, which Trump withdrew from in 2018. He must also prove the deal is more favorable than the one proposed in Geneva in February before he launched his war.
Otherwise, Trump will have inflicted massive damage on the world economy when less costly alternatives were available in terms of blood and treasure. He will also have to demonstrate that Iran has made no permanent gain by taking control of shipping passing through the Strait of Hormuz. These are the yardsticks his negotiating team will be keeping a close eye on.
