Canada Weighs Military Action as Iran-Israel Tensions Flare

Canadian PM Mark Carney hints at potential military involvement as US-Israeli strikes on Iran escalate. Hezbollah strongholds targeted, civilians urged to evacuate.
Canada's Prime Minister Mark Carney indicated that his country may not rule out military participation in the escalating conflict between the United States, Israel, and Iran. Carney's comments come as the crisis in the Middle East continues to intensify, with airstrikes hitting Hezbollah strongholds in Lebanon and concerns growing over Iran's drone capabilities.
The latest developments include an airstrike that targeted the Hezbollah-controlled southern Beirut region early on Thursday, following an Israeli warning for residents to evacuate. Elsewhere, three people were killed in a pair of Israeli strikes on vehicles along Beirut's airport highway, according to Lebanon's health ministry. Israel has urged people to leave the section of Lebanon south of the Litani river, an area spanning hundreds of square kilometers, as the military prepares to take further action.
Additionally, a US submarine was reported to have torpedoed an Iranian warship off the coast of Sri Lanka, escalating the conflict between the two nations. The incident highlights the heightened tensions and the potential for the war to spread beyond the Middle East region.
