Canadian Mother and Autistic Daughter Traumatized by ICE Detention

A Canadian woman and her 7-year-old daughter with autism have been detained by ICE for a week, transferred to a notorious facility, and told to 'self-deport'.
A Canadian woman named Tania Warner and her seven-year-old daughter Ayla, who has autism, have been held by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) for nearly a week after trying to enter the United States. The pair, originally from British Columbia, have been traumatized by the experience, according to Tania's husband Edward Warner, a US citizen.
Tania and Ayla moved to the US five years ago when Tania married Edward. However, their recent attempt to reenter the country has led to a harrowing detainment at the hands of ICE. The family has been transferred to a notorious detention center in Texas and asked to 'self-deport', despite Tania and Ayla's Canadian citizenship.
