Canadian Mother and Daughter Released from ICE Detention After 3-Week Ordeal

A Canadian woman and her 7-year-old daughter have been released from an ICE detention center after posting a $9,500 bond, reuniting the family after nearly 3 weeks of separation.
Tania Warner, a Canadian citizen, and her 7-year-old daughter Ayla Luca have been released from a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detention center after nearly 3 weeks of confinement. The pair, originally from British Columbia, were deemed not to be a flight risk and freed on Thursday evening after posting a $9,500 bond.
The ordeal began when Tania moved to the U.S. in 2021 to be with her American husband, Edward Warner. Despite being Canadian citizens, the mother and daughter were apprehended by ICE and held at the notorious Eloy Detention Center in Arizona, a facility known for its harsh conditions and human rights abuses.
