Chad's Escalating Role in Sudan's Violent Conflict

Experts allege Chad's involvement in supplying arms to one of the warring factions in Sudan, raising concerns about the country's growing influence in the ongoing conflict.
Chad, a neighboring country to Sudan, has recently closed its border with the conflict-torn nation, stating that it does not want the violence to spill over. However, experts have accused Chad of a more active role in the conflict, alleging that it is supplying arms to the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), one of the warring factions in Sudan.
The Sudanese conflict erupted in mid-April 2023 between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the RSF, two powerful military entities vying for control of the country. The clashes have resulted in numerous casualties and have forced thousands of civilians to flee their homes, seeking refuge in neighboring countries.
