China, Russia Denounce US-Israeli Strikes on Iran: Diplomatic Tensions Escalate

China and Russia condemn US-Israeli attacks on Iran, calling for restraint and diplomacy. Lavrov and Chinese FM voice opposition to military action against Tehran.
China and Russia have raised their diplomatic voices against the US and Israel's recent attacks on Iran, calling for an end to the violence and a return to diplomacy.
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi spoke with his Israeli counterpart, urging Israel to stop the attacks and respect international law. Meanwhile, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that Moscow sees no indication that Tehran is seeking nuclear weapons.
The escalating tensions between the West and Iran have raised concerns about the potential for a wider conflict in the Middle East. Both China and Russia have long-standing ties with Iran and have consistently opposed military action against the country.
Lavrov reiterated Russia's position that Iran is in compliance with the 2015 nuclear deal, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA). He criticized the US for withdrawing from the agreement and imposing crippling sanctions on Iran.
The US and Israel have stepped up their attacks on Iranian targets in recent weeks, citing concerns about Iran's nuclear program and support for regional militias. However, both China and Russia have pushed for a diplomatic solution, calling for all parties to exercise restraint and return to the negotiating table.
The US-Iran tensions have also raised concerns about the potential for disruptions to global oil supplies, as Iran has threatened to retaliate against any attacks. China and Russia have a vested interest in maintaining stability in the Middle East and ensuring the continued flow of energy resources.
As the diplomatic standoff continues, the international community will be closely watching to see if cooler heads can prevail and if diplomacy can ultimately defuse the crisis.
