Crocodile Warning: Residents Evacuated Amid Major NT Floods

Hundreds evacuated from NT towns as heavy rains and rising rivers threaten lives, with authorities warning of deadly crocodiles in floodwaters.
Crocodile Warning: Residents in the Northern Territory (NT) of Australia have been urgently warned to stay out of floodwaters, as hundreds have been evacuated due to major flooding from tropical lows. The entire town of Nauiyu/Daly River has been evacuated, with authorities reporting that "there are crocs absolutely everywhere" in the dangerous, crocodile-infested waters.
The Bureau of Meteorology has issued major flood warnings for the region, expecting river levels to continue rising in the coming week. Hundreds of people have already been airlifted from remote NT communities as the flooding situation worsens. NT Chief Minister Lia Finocchiaro stated that the evacuation of Nauiyu/Daly River was necessary to protect residents from the rising waters and the threat of deadly crocodiles.
