Crocodiles Spotted on AFL Ovals as Historic Flooding Swamps Northern Territory

As record-breaking rainfall inundates Australia's Northern Territory, residents face boil water notices and warnings about crocodiles in unexpected locations.
The Northern Territory of Australia is grappling with some of the worst flooding in decades, forcing school and highway closures and prompting residents living near major rivers to evacuate. The deluge has been so severe that the Katherine mayor has warned locals to be wary of flood waters after a saltwater crocodile was spotted on the town's AFL oval.
The Bureau of Meteorology has issued major flood warnings for thousands of Territorians near the Katherine, Daly and Georgina rivers, as well as Eyre Creek, with a flood watch covering nearly a dozen river catchments across the region. Residents are also being advised to boil their water due to the record-breaking deluge.
