Cyprus Tourism Faces Uncertainty Amid Iran Tensions

Cyprus, the EU's closest member to the Middle East, grapples with the impact of the Iran-US conflict on its thriving tourism industry as visitors think twice about visiting.
The Cypriot resort town of Ayia Napa is beginning to feel the effects of the ongoing tensions between Iran and the United States, as tourists trickle back to enjoy the destination's renowned sunsets, eateries, and shoreline views. No country in Europe is likely to be affected more than Cyprus, the nearest EU member to the Middle East.
Vassilis Georgiou, who oversees a water sports business on the seafront, is busy constructing a new ramp for the popular jetskis. Last year, his booth welcomed more than 500,000 holidaymakers, who also snapped up tickets for the boat cruises and parasailing on offer.
