Deadly Drone Attack Hits Iraqi Intelligence HQ in Baghdad

A police officer was killed in a drone strike by 'outlaw groups' on the headquarters of the Iraqi National Intelligence Service in Baghdad, officials say.
Baghdad - A drone strike near the Iraqi intelligence headquarters in the capital Baghdad has killed one police officer, according to Iraqi security officials. The attack was carried out by 'outlaw groups' on the headquarters of the Iraqi National Intelligence Service, they said.
The incident took place in the Karada district of central Baghdad on Tuesday. A police officer was killed and two others were wounded in the drone strike, the officials said, speaking on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to brief the media.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack yet. Iraqi security forces have been on high alert in recent weeks amid concerns of possible retaliation by Iran-backed militias for the killing of a senior Iranian Revolutionary Guard officer in Tehran last month.
