Deadly Outbreak Ravages Thai Tiger Park: Officials Investigate Cause

Authorities probe the tragic deaths of 72 tigers in a popular Thai tourist attraction, with initial findings suggesting a canine distemper virus outbreak as the cause.
Authorities are investigating a devastating outbreak at a Thai wildlife park that has resulted in the deaths of 72 tigers. The incident has shocked both local and international communities, raising concerns about the welfare and safety of captive tigers in the region.
The affected facility, known as Karnchanaburi Tiger Park, is a popular tourist attraction in western Thailand. According to officials, the outbreak was first detected in mid-August, when several tigers began exhibiting symptoms of illness, including lethargy and loss of appetite.
Initial lab tests conducted by the Department of National Parks, Wildlife, and Plant Conservation (DNP) have revealed that the tigers were infected with the canine distemper virus (CDV), a highly contagious disease that primarily affects canines but can also infect other species, including tigers.
