Deadly Suicide Attacks Rock Maiduguri, Shattering Calm in North-Eastern Nigeria

Over 23 killed, 100+ injured in bombings targeting markets, a post office, and a hospital in Maiduguri, Nigeria, ending a period of relative peace in the region.
A series of devastating suicide bombings rocked the north-eastern Nigerian city of Maiduguri, leaving at least 23 people dead and more than 100 others injured. The attacks, which shattered the relative calm the region had enjoyed in recent years, targeted a post office, market areas, and the entrance to the University of Maiduguri teaching hospital during the iftar period, when Muslims break their Ramadan fast.
Authorities have confirmed the explosions were the work of suspected suicide bombers, underscoring the ongoing threat of the Boko Haram insurgency in the region. The attacks took place on Monday evening, striking at the heart of Maiduguri's commercial and social centers.
