The explosions occurred in quick succession, targeting a crowded bus station and a marketplace in the heart of Maiduguri, the capital of Borno state. Eyewitnesses described scenes of carnage and devastation, with body parts and debris scattered across the affected areas.
Borno state police commissioner Damian Chukwu confirmed the death toll and stated that investigations were underway to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the attacks.
