Democrat Lawmaker Gains Access to Kennedy Center Board Meeting
In a recent court ruling, a federal judge has determined that an Ohio representative, Joyce Beatty, is entitled to participate in an upcoming Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts board meeting. Beatty, who holds an ex officio position on the board through her role in Congress, will be able to access documents and speak at the session, though she will not be permitted to vote.
The board meeting is set to discuss Donald Trump's plan to close the Kennedy Center for two years in order to carry out renovations. As an ex officio member, Beatty had previously been denied access to the meeting, prompting her to take legal action.
