Disgraced Congressman Vows to Fight for Affordable Prices in Comeback Bid

Jesse Jackson Jr., former U.S. Representative embroiled in a corruption scandal, is running to reclaim his old district and promises to champion lower prices for constituents.
Jesse Jackson Jr., a former U.S. Representative who was once a rising star in the Democratic Party, is making a comeback bid to reclaim his old congressional district. The former congressman, who was sentenced to 30 months in federal prison for misusing campaign funds, has promised to fight for lower prices if elected.
Jackson's political career was derailed in 2012 when he resigned from Congress amid a federal investigation into his use of campaign funds for personal expenses, including a $40,000 gold-plated Rolex watch. After serving his prison sentence, he is now seeking to regain the trust of voters in Illinois's 2nd Congressional District, which includes parts of Chicago and its southern suburbs.
