Dramatic Rescue: Canadian Fishers Adrift After Ice Shelf Breaks Free

Harrowing tales of anglers stranded on a floating ice shelf off the coast of Ontario, Canada as they make desperate calls to loved ones for help.
Anglers in south-eastern Ontario, Canada experienced a terrifying ordeal when the ice sheet they were fishing on broke free from the shoreline of Georgian Bay and began drifting away. Kevin Fox and his friend had joined nearly two dozen others on the ice, following the familiar routine of ice fishing - drilling holes, dropping their lines, and waiting for the catch.
However, what started as a typical day on the ice quickly turned into a life-or-death situation as the wind and currents caused the ice to detach from the shore. Fox and the other anglers suddenly found themselves adrift, cut off from land and with no easy way to return to safety.
