Elderly Endure Hardships as Kyiv Faces Russian Strikes and Blackouts

Residents of Kyiv's high-rises, particularly the elderly, navigate the challenges of living with intermittent heat and electricity due to Russian attacks on the city's infrastructure.
Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine, has become a city of resilience and adaptation in the face of relentless Russian attacks. As the war rages on, the elderly residents of Kyiv's numerous high-rises are learning to cope with the intermittent loss of heat and electricity, a daily struggle that has become a stark reality for many.

The sound of air raid sirens and the rumble of explosions have become a familiar, yet unsettling, backdrop to their daily lives.
