Elite Forces Liberate Hundreds from Brutal Rebel Captors in DRC

Ugandan and Congolese troops launch daring raid to free over 200 hostages from ADF Islamist militants in the Eastern DRC - a major victory against terror in the region.
Kinshasa, DRC - In a significant victory against the scourge of Islamist extremism in Central Africa, the Ugandan military has announced that it and allied forces from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) have successfully rescued some 200 hostages from the brutal clutches of the ADF rebel group in a joint cross-border operation in the Eastern DRC.
The ADF, a militant Islamist organization with ties to the Islamic State, has been waging a bloody insurgency across the border region between Uganda and the DRC for years, carrying out deadly attacks and kidnapping civilians to bolster their ranks. This latest rescue mission represents a major blow to the group's capacity to terrorize local populations and underscores the determination of regional authorities to confront the threat posed by the ADF and similar extremist factions.
