Esteemed Maestro Paavo Järvi to Lead London Philharmonic Orchestra

Estonian conductor Paavo Järvi, part of a renowned musical dynasty, will succeed Edward Gardner as chief conductor of the prestigious London Philharmonic Orchestra in 2028.
Paavo Järvi, the acclaimed Estonian conductor and member of a renowned musical dynasty, has been announced as the next chief conductor of the London Philharmonic Orchestra. Järvi will take over the reins from Edward Gardner in the 2028-29 season, when Gardner's current contract expires.
Järvi, 63, was born in Estonia into a family of esteemed musicians. His father, Neeme Järvi, is also a celebrated conductor, as is his younger brother, Kristjan Järvi. In 1980, the family relocated to the United States, and Paavo Järvi went on to study at the prestigious Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia and the Los Angeles Philharmonic Institute, where he was mentored by the legendary Leonard Bernstein.
