EU Secures Critical Minerals with Landmark Australia Trade Pact

Brussels and Canberra have clinched a landmark trade agreement that will grant the European Union vital access to critical minerals needed to power the bloc's transition to clean energy and maintain industrial competitiveness.
The deal, signed by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese on Tuesday, establishes a strategic partnership to secure supplies of lithium, cobalt, rare earths, and other key raw materials that are essential for electric vehicles, renewable technologies, and advanced manufacturing.
