Exclusive: Trump Administration Probes Top Medical Schools

The Trump Administration has launched investigations into enrollment and admissions practices at three top-tier medical schools. This exclusive report uncovers the details behind the federal inquiry.
The Trump administration has quietly opened investigations into the enrollment and admissions practices of three of the nation's most prestigious medical schools, according to government documents and people familiar with the matter.
The investigations, which have not been previously reported, target medical schools at Yale University, the University of Connecticut, and Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia. The inquiries, launched in recent months by the U.S. Department of Education, focus on whether the schools are discriminating against Asian American and white applicants in favor of other racial and ethnic groups.
Enrollment in medical programs is generally a fraction of that of undergraduate programs. At Stanford University, for example, the incoming class this academic year had 119 students.
