Fifa has been smart about its ticket pricing strategy for the upcoming 2026 World Cup, according to Don Garber, the commissioner of Major League Soccer (MLS). Garber's comments came during an event in Miami, where he attended the inaugural fixture at Inter Miami's Nu Stadium and spoke to reporters.
Garber reasoned that the high prices resulting from Fifa's dynamic pricing model reflect the exclusivity of the event, and said Americans are used to that level of premium pricing for major sporting events. 
The 2026 World Cup will be held across the United States, Mexico, and Canada, and Fifa's dynamic pricing approach has already significantly raised prices for all games of the tournament. This has raised concerns about accessibility and whether it could undermine MLS' efforts to grow the game and attract new fans domestically.
