Former Cyclone Narelle Brings Flooding Threat to WA Regions

Downgraded to a tropical low, ex-Tropical Cyclone Narelle continues to impact Western Australia with severe weather warnings for flash flooding in wheatbelt and Perth areas.
Cyclone Narelle, which made landfall in Western Australia on Friday, has been downgraded to a tropical low, but the threat of severe weather and flash flooding remains for storm-ravaged communities in the state's wheatbelt region and Perth area. The weather system is expected to continue moving south-east from Geraldton on Saturday.
Despite the downgrade, residents along the Pilbara and North West Cape coastlines are being warned not to let their guard down as they prepare to assess the damage left in the wake of the powerful storm. Flash flooding poses a significant threat to the wheatbelt region and the state's capital city of Perth as the weather system continues its south-eastward progression.
