Cecile Kohler and Jacques Paris, two French nationals who had been imprisoned in Iran for over three years, have now returned home to France following their release in November. The pair were held at the notorious Evin prison in Tehran, known for its harsh conditions and harsh treatment of political prisoners.
The pair were initially arrested in May 2022 while on a trip to Iran, with authorities accusing them of seeking to foment labor unrest. However, the French government has consistently denied these charges, calling their detention
