Gaza's Hamas Rebuffs Calls for Disarmament, Vows to Continue Fight

The military wing of Hamas rejects demands to disarm, calling it an attempt to perpetuate Israel's genocide against Palestinians. The group vows to keep fighting for Palestinian rights.
Gaza City - The armed wing of the Hamas movement has rejected calls for the group to disarm, saying such demands amount to an attempt to continue Israel's genocide against the Palestinian people. In a statement, Hamas spokesperson Abu Obeida said the group's weapons are a necessary means of defending the Palestinian population from Israeli aggression.
Obeida's comments come amid growing international pressure on Hamas to lay down its arms and embrace a political solution to the decades-long Israeli-Palestinian conflict. However, the Hamas leader insisted that the group's military capabilities are not up for negotiation.
