Gen Z's Shifting Attitudes Toward AI: From Optimism to Unease

Gallup study reveals Gen Z's changing sentiments about AI, as they become less hopeful and more concerned about the implications of this emerging technology.
Artificial intelligence (AI) has become a ubiquitous part of the daily lives of many young people, with a new study from Gallup revealing that half of Generation Z, those born between 1997 and 2012, are now using AI-powered technologies. However, the research also suggests that this demographic's feelings toward AI are beginning to sour, with a growing sense of unease and anger replacing the initial optimism.
The Gallup study, which surveyed over 1,000 U.S. adults, found that 51% of Gen Z respondents reported using AI-powered devices or services, such as virtual assistants, chatbots, and recommendation algorithms. This level of adoption is significantly higher than that of older generations, with only 38% of Millennials, 27% of Gen X, and 15% of Baby Boomers reporting similar usage.
