Global Markets Rattled as Iran Tensions Escalate

Asia stocks drop for third straight day as oil prices surge, investors closely track Middle East conflict
Global markets have been rocked in recent days as simmering tensions between the United States and Iran escalated sharply following the assassination of a top Iranian general. Investors are closely monitoring the situation, which has sent oil prices soaring and sparked volatility across Asian stock markets.
On Tuesday, South Korea's Kospi index plummeted more than 7% as it reopened after a public holiday, while Japan's Nikkei 225 lost over 3% in trading. Hong Kong's Hang Seng and the Shanghai Composite in mainland China also saw significant declines.
