Rory McIlroy, the Northern Irish professional golfer, has confirmed his plans to defend his Players Championship title despite withdrawing from the Arnold Palmer Invitational due to a back injury. McIlroy, who is also set to defend his Masters title next month, suffered from muscle spasms in his lower back while warming up for the third round at Bay Hill.
