Heating Oil Prices Spike as Suppliers Exploit Conflict

Homeowners in the South East of England face skyrocketing heating costs following the outbreak of war in Iran, accusing suppliers of price gouging.
Heating oil suppliers are being accused of holding homeowners hostage with exorbitant price hikes in the wake of the conflict in Iran. Residents across the South East of England report that the cost of heating their homes has soared in recent months, leaving many struggling to afford basic necessities.
Rosemary Johnson, a retiree living in Kent, says she was recently quoted £1,200 for a 1,000-liter delivery of heating oil - nearly triple the pre-war price. "It's absolutely extortionate," she laments. "These suppliers are taking advantage of the situation and ripping people off. We're being held to ransom."
