Hungary's New Leader Vows EU Realignment, Continued Immigration Crackdown

Incoming Prime Minister Peter Magyar promises a shift in Hungary's geopolitical orientation and stance on immigration, charting a new course for the EU member state.
Peter Magyar, the prospective Prime Minister of Hungary, has outlined his policy agenda in his first major news conference since winning the country's recent election. Magyar has promised to steer Budapest back towards the European Union and away from its previous close alignment with Russia. However, he is also expected to continue the hardline immigration policies championed by his predecessor, Viktor Orban.
In his address, Magyar emphasized the importance of restoring Hungary's relationship with the EU, which had become increasingly strained under Orban's leadership.
