Iconic Landmarks Go Dark to Celebrate Earth Hour Worldwide

From the Eiffel Tower in Paris to the Sagrada Família in Barcelona, famous sites around the globe turned off their lights to mark Earth Hour and raise awareness about climate change.
In a symbolic gesture to raise awareness about environmental conservation, some of the world's most iconic landmarks switched off their lights for an hour on Saturday night in observance of Earth Hour. The annual event, organized by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), encourages individuals, businesses, and governments to turn off non-essential lights and electronics to reduce electricity consumption and carbon emissions.
Among the global landmarks that participated in this year's Earth Hour were the Eiffel Tower in Paris, Sagrada Família Basilica in Barcelona, the Kremlin and St. Basil's Cathedral in Moscow, and the Sydney Opera House. These and many other famous structures across the planet went dark for 60 minutes, demonstrating a collective commitment to sustainability and environmental protection.
