Indian Cities Top Global Pollution Rankings, Report Reveals

A new report from IQAir finds that three Indian cities are among the world's most polluted, with Loni, Uttar Pradesh topping the list. Experts warn of the growing health crisis from poor air quality.
A report from Swiss air quality monitoring firm IQAir has revealed a concerning trend - three Indian cities are among the top four most polluted in the world. Loni, located in the northern state of Uttar Pradesh, was named the world's most polluted city in 2025.
The findings highlight the ongoing air quality crisis facing many urban centers in India, where rapid industrialization and population growth have contributed to dangerously high levels of air pollution. Experts warn that prolonged exposure to these hazardous conditions can lead to a wide range of respiratory illnesses, cardiovascular disease, and other serious health problems.
