Iran Asserts Firm Control Over Strait of Hormuz as Tensions Rise

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps claims Iran has complete control over the strategic Strait of Hormuz, a vital global oil chokepoint, as tensions escalate between Iran and the US and Israel.
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has declared that Iran maintains complete control over the critical Strait of Hormuz, a strategic global oil chokepoint, amid rising tensions with the United States and Israel. The Strait, which is only 21 miles wide at its narrowest point, is responsible for the shipment of nearly one-fifth of the world's total oil supply.
In a statement, the IRGC asserted that Iran is prepared to close the Strait of Hormuz in response to any threats or hostilities, effectively cutting off a vital global energy artery. This comes as the Trump administration has ramped up its rhetoric and military posturing against Iran, raising the specter of a potential military confrontation.
