Iran Imposes Sweeping Internet Shutdown as U.S. and Israel Strike

A crippling internet blackout in Iran has severed communication between citizens and the outside world amid escalating military tensions with the U.S. and Israel.
Iran has enforced a near-total internet blackout across the country, effectively cutting off the majority of its citizens from communicating with the outside world. This move comes in the midst of escalating military tensions between Iran, the United States, and Israel, as the latter two countries have carried out a series of airstrikes within Iranian borders.
The internet shutdown, which began earlier this week, has severely restricted Iranians' access to online communication, social media, and outside information. Only a small fraction of the population, primarily government officials and select businesses, have been able to maintain limited internet connectivity.
