Iran Rebuffs Trump's Claim of Ceasefire Request

Iran refutes Trump's statement about Iranian president requesting a ceasefire, as tensions remain high in the Strait of Hormuz region.
Tehran has rejected US President Donald Trump's claim that the Iranian president requested a ceasefire, amid escalating tensions in the Strait of Hormuz. Trump had stated that Iran wanted to negotiate, but the White House responded by saying the US will continue 'blasting Iran into oblivion' until the vital waterway is reopened.
In a tweet, Trump said 'Iran wants to negotiate with us but is being very difficult', and that 'we are ready to negotiate as soon as they are ready. But the US is not ready to make a deal'. However, Iran's foreign ministry spokesman Abbas Mousavi firmly denied the president's claim, describing it as 'either a lie or a dream'.
