Iran's Future Lies in the Hands of Iranians, Not Trump, Officials Assert

Iranian officials dismiss Trump's attempts to influence Iran's leadership, stating that the country's fate will be determined by the Iranian people, not the U.S. president.
Tehran - In a defiant response to U.S. President Donald Trump's attempts to intervene in Iran's affairs, senior Iranian officials have made it clear that the country's future will be determined by the Iranian people, not by the American president.
Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, the speaker of Iran's parliament, directly addressed Trump's push for a role in choosing Iran's next supreme leader, referring to the U.S. president as part of "Epstein's gang". Ghalibaf's remarks underscored the Iranian government's firm stance that the country's leadership will be selected by the Iranian people, not dictated by external forces.
"Iran's fate will not be decided by Epstein's gang," Ghalibaf said, in a clear rebuke of Trump's attempts to influence the succession process in Iran. The reference to "Epstein's gang" is a scathing indictment of the U.S. president and his associates, evoking the scandal surrounding the late financier Jeffrey Epstein.
